Well still in Baku as our original ferry we were "booked" onto was rerouted to Kazhakstan as a shipment of petrol was more profitable than a bunch of smelly travellers. Ah well!
An exciting oil exhibition is in town and half of the world seems to have booked up hotel rooms here so needs must and we all bunked down into 5 rooms....24 people....7 beds and a load of floor space. Many thanks to Pete and Kirsten for pimping out their floor to us!
Plan B for today was also screwed up as the other ferry we were expecting vanished into thin air, perhaps the Caspian Triangle but it is apparently due into port at 3am so the tents are being offloaded and we are camping in the hotels garden! How rustic!
Baku is expensive as it mainly an oil city so is a building site with the 4 Seasons and Hiltons being thrown up on every corner so kebabs have been the meal of choice for the past few nights but we are getting a bit kebabed out so going to push the boat out (boom boom) and have pizza tonight.
